Default How much can 83mm stock sleeves hold

Can it safely hold a 100-125 shot, or 10lbs of boost.

I can get it tuned nicely, but I need it to last a couple of years as daily driver. Just need to know if they will hold up.

B20 is a completely different sleeve design from the 81mm B18's. You can't "debore" a B20 to 83mm, nor could you bore a B18/B16 out to 83mm and keep any strength in the walls. You'll oval the cylinders in short order. Stick to anywhere from 81 to 81.5 bore on stock sleeves.

nothing is guarenteed, and with stock sleeves your running a VERY big risk, and your wanting to bore to 84.5, the walls are not designed to take that much of abuse, if the motor goes lean there goes your motor, walls will crack, the thinner they go they becomg weaker, do your self a favor and sleeve it.

well, at least hone it, to fix any out of round wear. But I'll just stick to the b18. save some money for other stuff

well thanks for the feedback. I'll see if I can later on sell the b18c block to buy something sleeved.

if you want less than 450whp, you can get that with the stock bore on the b18c and stock sleeves. the only real benefit for you going to a larger bore would probably be more torque.
you can definitely do a hone on the engine without being worried but ask your mechanic or machine shop if the block even needs a hone. its never a bad idea tho.
