1994 civic ex won't crank!!!
hey all,
I have just finished putting the motor in my civic. The previous owner had the head gasket blow out and hse drove it until it got so hot that the timing belt cover melted. Her husband took the head off and had it checked and resurfaced.
The block was cracked so I put in a 1993 d15b7 block.
Problem is....
Now that the car is back together and ready to go. It won't turn over. Almost like there is no power to the starter.
When I put the key in the ignition the (SRS) light comes on. Should it go off?
I have checked the starter. it works fine. I have checked the fuses. I have checked all the connections.
What could it be?
any help would be geartly appreciated.

have you checked to see if the stater solenoid is getting power when you try to crank it? If so, its pretty simple. time for a new starter. if not, time to start figuring out why the power isnt making it from the ignition switch out to the starter.
oh... your smart.
ok back to business.
starters out. If I jump power from the positive terminal.. to the spade connection... it should throw the solenoid.. right?
If so... I got a bum starter.

umm.. the starter won't engage!!! so it really would'nt make any difference if I had spark or not..

I have found out why my car would not crank over. It was the large ground wire that runs from the frame to the tranny.
It seems that the previous owner had broken the bolt holding the ground wire. It looked visibly connected. When in fact it was just laying in place.
