If its a 92 civic why not set it up as obd1 unless it's a type R ... If not a type R just change the manifold out .....Btw what 96 engine do you have? B,H,D,K Series...

If it's a 96 engine I'm pretty sure he'd have to run OBD-II for BAR.

Or re-pin and hook up the car permanently for OBD-II. Probably would be a last effort situation, but it's really not that difficult at all.
Good luck to you though man, I know how much of a pain getting through the BAR certification process can be.

"Correction" I've done this many times you can set it up as obd1 ....use obd1 ecu and intake manifold... it will pass visual ....everything else works the same..
well maybe only for the b18c1 GSR and b18b LS
for the b16a1 , b16a2, and b16a3 it has to be set up the same year as the engine...........but for the 1.6L bar sticker we ref the single cam 1.6L V-tec engine
and then throw in the b16... This the only info i got for you...

Yeah I think everything comes down to the ref. My sticker clearly specifies "b18c5" on it in addition to the 1.8 Acura Integra.
