How do i change the alternator belt in d16y7.
My alternator belt snapped off and I am replacing it..
I see that it is behind the ac and ps belts on the crank so its going to be harder than i thought..
I looked through the civic service manual and it tells how to remove the alternator or how to adjust the tension on the belt not how to remove/replace the belt.
I searched around here and couldnt find anything concrete can someone tell me what to do? Im asking instead of just going ahead and take the crank off beause i dont want to expletive anything up...

its not that hard but you have to take all the belts off cause it sits on the very back track on the underdrive pulley. losen the bottom bolt on the alternator then the bolt on the belt tesoner bracket. slide alternator all the way towards the head lights. then losen the wing nut on the power steering (if you have ps). remove that belt. then losen the ac. drop that belt and slide on your new alternator belt. reinstall all other belts, make sure not to tighten them too mutch. if i were you i would get all new belts and save you self time, cause in a month when another one snaps you'll probley need to do this all over again. /thread
where is the wing nut? i am looking over the powersteering and just dont see it..
Just to be certain im looking in the right place it is to the left of the powersteering resvoir at the edge of the motor right?
i dont see it

there might not be a wing nut but there sould be a blot there to adjust the ps, you have to losen that and slide the ps back to take off the belt. or you can take the two bolts out the side and drop the whole pump. it's pretty easy once you see what complely your up against you'll get it.
