Default Steering Column Adjustment.

I have a 94 Del Sol with some alignment issues. The steering column is about 10 degrees off center clockwise, which makes the steering wheel have to be about 10 degree off center counter clockwise for me to drive straight. If I let go of the steering wheel, the car immediately veers slightly to the right, the direction the column is off. I feel that if i can straighten out the column, it will fix not only the amount the steering wheel is off, but also the veering to the right. I'm sure I'll need an alignment, but before I get one, I'd like to get this situation fixed first.

Am I right in my thinking that the steering column is the source of my problems and, if so, how do I go about adjusting it?
