Steering rack pre-load adjustment
I have a 2003 civic coupe and the steering does not return to center. I have replaced the tires with Yokohoma Avids which improved the handling.
It has been to the dealer several times and they checked the aleignment which was in spec in the front and slightly out in the rear. They say this is normal handling for this model although I have driven others which do center properly.
Can someone tell me how I can adjust the rack pre-load and, if possible, can you send me a picture of the rack and adjustment point.
Is there anything else that can be done without redoing the entire front end that could help the centering..

Re: Steering rack pre-load adjustment (the home advisor)
Are we talking about the steering wheel itself not being centered? It sounds like your saying the actual allignment of the wheels is correct but the steering wheel is not centered. If so they need to center the steering wheel before alligning.
Maybe you can elaborate on pre-load, I'm not sure what you're asking.
