Default What Paperwork Needed when Buying a Motor?

im about to buy a stock civic motor from a friend who swapped his for an integra one. just wondering what kind of paperwork i need. like a copy of his pink slip so it could match with the motor and his driver's license. let me know.

I would copy down the VIN from the Vin plate in the dash and match it to the VIN on the engine...if they match then go ahead and write out a bill of sale stating the year and engine model plus VIN, how much you paid and who you bought it from along with the date, then have it signed by both parties and a witness (mom, dad, cousin, ect.)...This will ensure you that your *** is covered.

a photo copy of the title for the car, plus your license and the sellers license phot copied on the same page as a short bill of sale with both signatures. Since it's a friend, this should be easy, and you'll never get hassled.
When it's a private party, I've just done a bill of sale and the sellers drivers license number.

Just got my motor!

My first motor and build. yay. lol.
Anyways... where is it vin on the motor? I want to match it up to the pinkslip so i could be sure everything is legal.
