Default CEL code P0135 - O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 1)

OK, so I thought I had a CEL for my cat since I put in a test pipe and all that mess. Turns out it's a P0135 code for "O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 1)" Question is - what could I do to prevent it from burning out if I replaced it? Because it didn't have any problem before I got my header and everything put on. And I'm assuming the heat just fried it. Or maybe it's just time for it to crap out....the CEL has been on for quite a while but I didn't bother with it.

put on a high flow cat.. Test pipes only add about 1hp up top and takes away from bottom end. Just keep your cat theres no point to take it off unless your boosting. And you get to help keep our earth a little bit greener.

It has nothing to do with the test pipe. I thought the code was for that before, but it is actually for the o2 bank 1 sensor 1, like I stated.

O i thought you ment the down stream sensor.. But it just seem that you have a bad o2 sensor. They tend to go every 60K+ miles.

I guess I will replace it...probably end up buying a universal one and wiring it up since I don't want to spend $100
