Default d16y8 into 1995 civic

I put the y8 in the car with the z6 manifold and decided to put the y8 manifold on the engine. Now I have a horible idle surge when idling between 1000-1200 rpms. I added the IAT and changed to the y8 purge solenoid. I may have the wires backwards. Would that cause the idle surge and if not what might it be. Sorry for the long post and thanks for any help.

Are you sure you dont have any vaccuum leaks? Is the manifold bolted up completely, cracked gasket, etc?

You may also need to mess with your IACV a little bit if none of the above helps.

best bet would be tossing a z6 manifold on there

It sounds like you have a vaccuum leak of some sort, or your IACV needs to be messed with. Did you double/triple check all hoses and bolts?

I double/ triple checked all hoses and bolts. I even changed the IACV and it still surges. I sprayed the intake to check for leaks and nothing hapenned. Is there anyhting else it could be?
