need help with ECU on a 92 b16
can someone please tell me wat kind of ecu do i need for my 92 b16, i thought i just neded the p30 ecu but know there telling me that it need to be the ecu for the car wich im stalling it on a civic hatch 96 and he said i need a obd2 not the one for the engine wich is a obd1, so wich one is it? the car obd2 or the motor obd1
You're in the wrong forum, but I'll help you out. Your best bet will be to get an OBD2 to OBD1 conversion harness so you can use an OBD1 ecu like a P30 or a rechipped P28.
also some of your wiring harness won't plug right into the b16a either, you will need to either repin your distributor plugs or use an distributor adaptor, the IAT sensor will not plug in, the alternator plug will need to be swapped over, the IACV will have to converted over to a 2 wire, and the O2 sensor will have to be extended.

Since your car id OBD2a (96-98) and your motor is OBD1 (92-95) it would be easiest to run a P30 ECU and buy an OBD2a -> OBD1 jumper harness. The car will work fine, but when the time comes to get the car emission tested (if you have that, which you should if you're in CA) then your OBD2 scanner port will not work and you will probably fail.
