my carbon fiber hood goes into the local body shop to be painted white to match my car i cant wait to see how it turns out what do yall think about this?

 

If you like the sleeper look, go for it. It'll get less attention from possible thieves.

 

I saw a teg with a painted c/f hood today. It looks normal but has the hood pins sticking out I myself would of painted them too .But now im looking for a C/F hood with out pins (the ones that latch like the stock hood.

 

i think it is a good idea...i would do the same if i ever got a carbon fiber hood.

Yeah, if I had a CF hood, I'd definately paint it. Unless your car is black, a CF hood makes it look like it came from a chop shop or a junkyard, imo.

 

I think it is rather pointles if you are going for a sleeper. Perhaps if you don't like the carbon fiber hood... The weight reduction you get from the $500+ hood is not going to be worth it IMO, unless you are gutting the car, etc etc. In which case it wouldn't be much of a sleeper.

Carbon Fiber hoods look gay if they arnt painted.. even on black cars.. Except on that Spoon GSR.. it looks tight on that.. but thats about it!

 

i love carbon fiber, keep it unpainted..

what if u have a py type-r and a)theives will jack that **** in a second regardless of what mods you have, only way i seeing it as being a deterent is if you park next to another type r and b) the car is yellow and it's a type-r so the "sleeper" look is impossible.... personally it would pain me to paint over jdm spec cf the weave is too nice. -rob
