Default 2 riders killed in my old hometown...

I lived in Casper from 2000-2005, I lived less than a mile from the scene of the accident.

http://www.trib.com/articles/2...1.txt

It was also covered on the local TV station there. Neither were wearing helmets and were doing over twice the speed limit down that street.

Think!

Meh. Shoulda been wearing helmets and not speeding.

SUV shouldnt have taken a left turn in front of them.

Sucks either way.

Oh, well I was basing the 100+ off of they report stating they were going 2 X the speed limit. so I am assuming it's somewhere betwee 55 MPH?

That's just crazy what you said about Arizon. Isn't there a law about wearing helmet over there?

stupid suv turning left. but if they were going the limit of slightly less as I would do when approaching a left turning vehicle.

they could have easily slowed down and avoided a bad situation.

hurm.. lots of people getting dead lately.

This past weekend or week or whatever in hoodbridge, VA two dudes got killed.

Subject A:
Speed: 100+MPH
Venue: Route 1 highway (2 lanes of travel in each direction, separated by a median in some places, or a large middle turn lane in other places)
Set up: New construction has been adding new medians where there were once no medians. Steel pipe burried in the new concrete median holding up a construction sign.
Event: Guy runs into the new median, gets flung from bike, arm and leg get cut off by the sign. Body continues into traffic where it's run over by a car and decapitated.
end

Subject B:
Speed: 100+ mph
Venue: 4 lane road seperated by grass median, concrete in other places.
Set up: School bus, hilly section of the road
Event: Guy comes up over a hill carrying a wheelie at over 100 mph, runs into the back of the bus. He hit the bus so hard, the rear axel was moved forward 5". Guy dead
end

Stunting is cool on public roads, *****.

While it's sad to see, it's even sadder that there was a strong chance that it could've been prevented.

No kidding,

Last week Diego Corrales died in my home town. High speed and rider inexperience were the key factors in his death. He was on an '07 Gixxer 1000 when he died in a collision with another car.

You know I don't care how stupid you are, it's sad to see someone's life taken away. Just be careful out there people. Some way i'm glad i sold my bike a couple of years ago. The only way I'd get back on one is if i took it on the track.
