help ej1 rev limiter hits at 5500

help ej1 rev limiter hits at 5500
i was just drivin around by my house a few minutes ago... takin some turns quick... just put in new strut bars and camber kit and i floored it in first gear and i was gonna bring it to about 7k and shut down just for a quick first gear pull but the rev limiter hit at 5500... and i was all ready for vtec to kick in... me and my buddy were dissapointed haha help me guys what could the problem be?

oh sorry it's a d16z6... no other problems just a ps leak that i'm about to fix right now... so i figured i could fix this while i'm at it
