97 hatch -->2003 civic 3d Si antenna swap
i've had my 97 hatch for about 4 weeks now, and i absolutely hate how much the stock antenna makes it look like a toy r/c car. I had this idea to swap a 2003 3 door civic Si antenna on the rear area of the roof, and shave the original hole. I really like the look of the "euro style" antenna versus the stock 97 one. From what I cab tell it should work with very little effort and the antenna leads all look to be virtually the same except for one problem. There appear to be 2 different versions. I think one may possibly be a heated model? If you look at the parts breakdown at the dealer you can see an electrical plug on the "feeder assembly" which is the heavy black cable going from the antenna to the radio. Then the element, base, nut, and pad all have two different versions one being "harada", and the other nothing, special at all. Anyone have any input on this? Anyone ever done it?
I've seen people put s2k antennas on their factory mounting locations on 96-00 hatches. Looks clean.
Just utilize that spot, so you don't have to wire all the way around your headliner.
You could always eliminate it and get an aftermarket antenna as well.
Just some suggestions.

I'm trying to replicate the look of the 2003 3d Si. I could put the s2000 antenna on the roof location.
