Help with taking off Intake Manifold!

I got all nuts off the top of the manifold and I could only get the first two from the passenger side on the bottom. Will I need to pull the Engine to take off the other nuts?
I just got done doing the intake on my 97 with an h22a. You can get to the bottom bolts. The way i done it was from underneath the car. Put it up on jack stands. Its a bitch but it can be done. You almost have to feel your way through it.
Like said before. Jack the car up, secure it so it won't crush your *** and then get under there with an assortment of 12mm box end wrenches, ratchet/sockets/estensions.
It might not be easy but you don't have to pull the engine to get to them.

The car is parked on a hill so when I jacked it up and got under it, all I could think about is the car crushing me. I will have help today so it may be easier.

I advise not doing it on an incline.. or if you do put some bump stops behind the rear wheels and put the car in gear...just last month i was changing my girl friends oil on her car and my pant leg caught the jack and it rolled over and hit the jack stand and the front left jack stand shot out from under the car.. and as i lay there flat beneath the right jack stand it fell and the only thing seperating me from smashed face were the cinderblocks is tuck under neath... i vote F that.. do it in the street if you hafto f doing it on an incline

****! I hope you are okay. I would have **** my pants, literally. I plan on pushing it to level ground and I will use a second jack to get it high enough off the ground for the jack stand.

Unfortunately we don't have do it yourself garages, and with the risk of liability no one is wiling to let me just use their shop for personal reasons. Also they want to do the job so they can make that money.

im not trying to scare you but its totally doable man im just saying if you can do it on a flat surface id do it there.. i remember taking those bolts off my h23 it sucked just make sure you have the thing secured.. and put stuff behind the wheels and inspect the best locations for the jackstands and not wear baggy pants with cargo pockets n such to get caught!
you have the power.. with out some stinking lift ><

One thing no one with a honda should be without....a set of metric swivel head ratchet wrenches......take it from someone who works on these cars for a living.

I got them out with the help of a really skinny guy, and a six pack of beer. Once I got it off I noticed that the intake manifold gasket was leaking and that there is way to much carb build up. Any suggestions on what to do to clean this?

Congrats on getting it off finally
. Just use a razor and clean the back of the head surface and the intake manifold surface. You can use gum cutter to eliminate the carbon in the intake and the back side of the head. Then all you need to do it use a new intake manifold gasket you will be good to go.

I already purchased all 3 intake manifold, and throttle body gaskets. I think the seafoam I used leaked threw the gaskets. I am worried about how hard it is going to be to get it back on. One thing is for sure! I will keep a case of beer in the fridge to get the skinny guy to help me with that.
