Default Help, Engine Won't Run

My car has been parked for about 5 months and it has been driven once a week by my father, just around the block to keep parts moving. I got in it today for the first time since returning from school and the car started up fine. I put it into gear, backed up and began to drive off. As i got close to a stop sign i downshifted into 2nd from 3rd and the engine stalled out. I had the clutch in so i dont know exactly why this happened. I tried cranking the motor but it won't turn entirely.
My car is a 93 civic ex, with the d16z6 motor. Any help is greatly appreciated

What makes you think its flooded, if it was running and it just shut off when you down shifted I HIGHLY doubt that is the problem. Yes the Fuel pump would be another great thing to check. How many miles is on your motor? And will it turn over but not start you said? I didnt really understand. But my buddy had a older civic 4 door and his fuel pump was goin out and after school we would wait and wait and it would just turn over and not start. Finally it would start but it was definetly his pump goin out.

It could be a bad alternator. Even though that your father drove it, the engine was getting its electrical off the battery because the alternator wasnt working then when you got it the battery finally dies when you were driving.
You also stated that the car wouldnt turn over completly? Thats a sign of a dead battery. Your alternator might not be charging the battery to keep juice in it.
Change the alternator and get it a new battery. The reason your car died is because the alternator cant charge the battery so the all the electrical was being run off the battery until the battery died. So get the alternator replaced. It has NOTHING to do with your fuel system or the engine being flooded. If it was your fuel system and it was getting flooded there would be a huge cloud of black smoke coming out of your exhuast while you were driving.
