there are many ways, but basically the ECU needs to talk to the VTEC solenoid.

so take a wire and run it from the VTEC solenoid through the firewall, and to the ECU where the pin is for VTEC (see charts stickeyed at the top of this forum)

Y7 isnt a VTEC engine (unless you do a mini me) so forget about that.

If you have an obd1 year use the Z6 intake manifold and run a P05 (DX) ecu.

I had D16Z6 engine before, so all wires are for VTEC engine.. It's OBD2 year. Now I want to put D16Y7, I know it's not VTEC engine, so I'd like to know what should I do to VTEC wiring to make this engine work..? BTW, If I load D16Y7 bin into my D16Z6 ECU will that work?

So your converted to obd1 or are you still obd2?

Just leave the VTEC wiring hanging, its not going to hurt anything.

I dont think he meant literally leave it hanging but yea just run it back through the firewall and roll it up and tape it to somethin. You dont have to do anything with it other than not hook it up, because there is nothin to hook it to. And yea its no problem at all.
