Default synchrowave or dynasty

Im trying to figure out which one of the 2 to go with. Price is no concern, anyone with experiance in both would be great. It will be used for small automotive fabricating, i.e. manifolds, down pipes, etc etc. What are some of the more noticable differences, not the size etc. Anyone with the real world experiance in both welders would be greatly appreciated. thanks everyone.

if it's gonna be used for "small automotive fabricating", then don't spend the extra money on the Dyanasty... Unless space is of a major concern... Plus the Syncro has a higher amperage range...

The Dynasty has more and nicer features but would seem useless to you unless you do A LOT of aluminium...

I'd jsut go with the Syncro, it seems like it would be better suited for your needs?

i have a sync 200, and we have a dyn 200 at our lab at school i use some, most f the time i use a sync 250 there.

the setings are actually quite similar between the two. only differences i really see are the size, lol, and with aluminum the inverter technology is great. it uses a larger frequency range for aluminum welding so is more adjustable there.
but itd only be worth it to you if you really were going to do tons of alum. welding.

good luck

If cost is no object get the dynasty, way better for aluminum, very small and light, uses far less power. I've had both, I prefer dynasty.

the only aluminum id be welding would be IC and IC piping.

I was planning on getting the sync then someone also planted the dynasty seed...i dont think i need it but i thought i would check out what some people have to say about the 2.

right, if money isnt a problem then theres no reason not to get the dyn.

but if youd rather spend the extra 1000 on tanks, hemet, all cup sizes and gas lenses and their cups, and a better torch, then you might think aboout that.

yeah thats another thing that was weighing on me, i could buy a ton of extras for the sync and still have less money in it then the dyn. I weld at work so helmet is no biggy. And since the place I work has about 150 miller welders...I get a discount on alot of the products, except s.s. filler rods...that ***** expensive as fawk.

Well if money is no problem go see a dynasty in person compared to a sync then think about being able to take that dynasty anywhere pretty much as it can be used on multiple power outlets. It's very versatile. You don't even need to wire up a dedicated circuit for it ,just run it off a dryer plug even and it will do anything you want. Run it off a regular household 15a plug and you can pretty much do all sorts of steel work.

Thats if money is no problem though.....don't forget to look into the thrmal arc.

I use a Dynasty 300 and it's defiantly does stand out for it's great AC welding but it's also ~8k retail, plus cooler, cart etc... if money's no object, do it

I have a dynasty 300dx and absolutely love it. I'v used the synchro 200 before as well. For steel they are pretty much the same IMO but for aluminum the dynasty has way more features being that it uses inverter technology. Is it worth the price tag? I believe so. My welding has significantly improved since I aquired it. Once setup correctly welding aluminum for even a beginner is a breeze.

The difference between the cost of the syncrowave and dynasty slims when you consider the difference in the power bills between the two.

only problem with ebay dealers is if theres a warranty problem, they wont help you, you have to goto a local miller authorized repair shop, which most welding shops are.

Yeah I know a penny saved is a penny earned, do you have any info on where to find one for that price? thanks

I'll add my 2 cents..

in July 2004, I bought a new Dynasty 200dx with the intention of learning how to tig. Unfortunately, life got in the way, and I never used it until 2 days ago. The HF start does not work at all. I think the unit *might* still be under warranty, but this is still rediculous.

Ah well, so much for learning how to tig, I dropped it off at a Miller service center, we'll see if I have to pay anything, and how long I have to wait.
