Ipod Into a EM1?
Has anyone put an ipod into a stock honda radio? If so how did you go about it?
I have an EM1 and im trying to collect some info on connecting my nano onto my radio. I know I might have to buy an adapter or something, don't know what exactly.
I tried searching but all i could find was ipod into an 03 civic.
Thanks for your help.
Sorry.. thought i was in the audio section. Please move if necessary.

There are adapter cables for Honda radios to plug the iPods in. They're sold on eBay and many many many other sites. I dont' think they're mentioned much here, but a simple Google search should return some good results.

haha...yep that would solve the problem. You can get at least $60 for your em1 deck...though you can't rock that amber no more haha.

Plus you have to change the radio station on long rides because often the station will get staticy.

There are aftermarket radios that allow auxilary inputs and can plug into iPods.
I often prefer the look of stock decks though. A silver CD player has no place in my gray and black interior.

Yes, only if you get like a newer radio like the 2005-2006 CRV 6-disc CD changer (which lights up amber and plug and play into your EM1). It's called the Honda Musiclink. They are discontinued for 2007 (but will resume production for 2008), but you can still get them on eBay. Plugs into your aux inlet.

yeah, i have. only if your deck comes with a audio output. if it does just go to radio shack and get the wire for it. cost like $6.

I agree, Alpine have one that you can connect your iPod into the deck (need the cable, about $10.00). You can also search and navigate your iPod from your deck (iPod can be stored inside glove compartment).

There's cables for the older radios too. I know there's one for the '99-'00 Civic Si factory CD player because I've been looking into getting one. They're all over the internet.

I been doing some research and I didnt find exactly what im looking for. I dont want to remove my stock radio cause i like the look of it.
I heard a stock radio with the FM transmiter and it doesnt sound clear, like bmoua said theres some static going on there.
I do like that crv radio idea but it might be too big for the em1.
I removed the radio to take a look at the back of it, theres a secound slot to plug something else in. It is right next to where the stock radio harness plugs into and its similar but smaller. I think thats for a cd changer or something in that sort, not for an ipod.
thanks for your replies guys

Of course there is no plug made for an iPod on the back of a '99-'00 Civic Si.
The iPod came out in 2001.... AFTER all the '99-'00 Si coupes and had already been built.
But.... the aftermarket iPod cables do plug into the socket for the CD changer. It's the blue rectangular socket.
Go to Google and search for "1999 honda civic ipod cable".

I got the adapter cable from Circuit City. You can also try Crutchfield as I got another there for my CRX and it works great! It will connect to the back of the stereo where your CD changer plugs into.
EDIT: Here you go: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-6...pg770
Look for the USA Spec or Precision Adatper.
