Default uneven tire wear and safety

i'm running a pilot power in the rear with a little over 3k miles. i did a lot of point A to B riding on it not too much aggressive twisty riding.

so of course the center tread is worn down flatter than it should be

is it riskier to be leaning harder when the tread is comprimised like this?

The problem is the bike will "fall" into turns a lot more suddenly.

It depends on how square your tire is. turning will not be as smooth. The more square your tire is in the center, the riskier it will be. Nothing you can really do but ride carefully and next time you get tires, get some better suited for your style of riding.

I've got the same tire and same problem. In NH you have to do a lot of traveling just to get to a few nice roads, so naturally my tires wear quickly on top. What will happen is it will feel like the bike is turning harder, and then will suddenly "fall" into a corner. Just know your bike, your tire, and your limits. I've got 4600mi on my tire, and it's not flat enough for me to replace it yet.

i put about 1000 to 1500 miles on my bike per month and 90% of that up right

i want to continue to get my bike over in the corners so what would be a good tire to get?
what is something with a nice hard center?

Well the michelin pilot powers are really a high performance tire, so anything of that nature will wear faster. There is word that they are making the pilot powers dual compounds now, so the center won't wear as fast. Just go down to your local dealership and tell them what you are looking for, and they can suggest a few different tires.

the new dual compund powers(2cts) have the same center compound as the regular powers just softer edges

with street riding, the center will always wear faster. if its wearing abnormally fast, it could be due to improper tire psi. its not riskier when leaning the bike over, but it will make turn in feel different since the tire is no longer round...
