Default help installing a slip on!

Alright I bought a vanes and hines slip on off of ebay used and I seem to be having a problem.

The bike is a yamaha yzf600r

I went to put it on and the part that slips over is well to large. I tried using a reducer from the retards at napa and that failed. Is there supposed to be a gasket that connects the mid pipe to the header? How could I customize it to make it fit?

Please help!

take it to a reputable welding shop and see if they can weld a flange onto it? if not.. buy the correct fitting pipe

sounds like you ended up with the wrong pipe.
You'll have to come up with some way to fab it on there.

Okay, maybe I'm confused. But a slip-on is not suppsoe to be tight fitting. Hence the name '' slip-on''. The pipe is suppose to slide over the mid-pipe and then with a hanger attach to the bike. Unless you mean a full exhaust system, minus the header. Then yesy ou got the wrong pipe...

haha "slip on" doesn't mean it doesn't fit the pipe, there isn't supposed to be play especially after you clamp it.

I would weld it, or have someone do it for you if you don't know how
