trying to make a little money on a bet and can't find any clear cut answers....

will a HONDA car run on an alt. without the battery?

and will a car run just off the battery ... ( until it dies?) THIS ONE I KNOW BECUASE I JUST DID IT BUT I NEED PEOPLE OTHERS TO SAY SOMETHING ON THE ALT.

Yeah itll run just fine

Ive ran a car for 45 miles with no battery, just fired it up (with battery) rmeoved the battery and went on my way in an emergency

Ive also had a alt belt snap on me and I made it I think about 15miles home just fine (lights off)

So yeah, car runs without them

 

yes, both.


as the battery runs dry though (with no alternator) you lose lights, tach, etc.

On the battery till it dies....

On the alternator till you shut it off....
