leave the cat on...you wont notice any difference with a test pipe on there..it might be louder and will give you a smidge better air flow but you wont notice a difference in the .00000012 HP that you gain just because ebay says it will add 15-20HP doesnt mean it will thats just so you will buy it

basically yes..if you want your car to sound a bit louder then i guess go for it..but other than that you are not going to notice any HP gains at all..just sound..it will probably be a deeper tone and be louder

I have a test pipe on my 98...it's loud as hell but that's about it. If you want to be noticed for your loud car, go for it.

it wont help unless you have an aftermarket header with a larger collector, a larger flange, and your cat has a wider flange inlet and outlet, aka one not designed to be used with OEM parts (which would then make it either one-off or an off road use only part)

leave him alone with that. its not worth the fight.

itll be a LOT louder, and your car will REEK like unburnt gas (aka lawn mower). gas milege shouldnt really change, but since its a "performance" mod you will probably be heavier on the foot.

in essence any "bolt ons" should give SLIGHT increases in gas milege (<1mpg usually), but its ususally negated by changed driving habit.
