Default THE GAS PEDAL WON'T WORK!!!

i hate posting up with my car issues and 99% of the time i will fix the minor **** on my car without posting, but this problem has been going on for allmost a week now and its driving me nuts to the point where ive started cursing at and hitting my car. Hope if someone's experienced the same kind of thing thet they'd be willing to offer help.

under partial load or at about 170mmHg intake pressure (20% throttle @3krpm) the car starts sputtering and making a funny sound, and it will not accelerate. it kind of sounds like a WRX with exhaust the way the exhaust lopes. Im pretty sure that the ignition timing is being heavily retarded under load, although at a hair less throttle that that amount of threshold throttle the car runs fine hand feels rather peppy for the amount of throttle being applied, as if everything is just fine. Ive checked the plugs, cables and disty cap+rotor. all seem to be fine and plugs+cap+rotor are almost new. for some reason under load it is retarding spark to the point that the engine is barely making power. This happened after, but not immeaditly after installing my VAFC in the ecu harness. the CEL is ON and i pulled a P0325 (knock Sensor). I have replaced the knock sensor to no avail. checked vaccum system, checked my VAFC install and everything, no frigging clue what is up. please help!!! i want to take it to the track on sunday!!!

i say check ur fluids, and timing belt. i kinda had the same type of issue. not really but ill explain, my timing belt was messed up, i didnt know at the time but when i hit vtec in my car the car would hesitate alot. it would start pulling then bog then go back then bog. finally i was driving on the highway and my belt jumped and i lost compression, lucky i didnt ruin anything. i would make sure your timing belt is good, and that the tension coil isnt weak if ur ganna replace ur belt u might as well replace your water pump too... they can get clogged but i dont think thats your problem. i kinda think it has to do with your timing. but i will always tell people, dont take my advice as gold wait for someone else to post what they think too....

Have you tried resetting your VAFC and then recalibrating it? Have you actually put any alterations into the VAFC? Check and make sure it's still set for 4 cylinders and that the little arrow points up and to the right.

I'm sure the vafc is hooked up correctly by your accounts, but have you tried to disconnect it and see if the problem persists? At least this way you can eliminate the unit itself. And of course the basics, engine is grounded, transmission grounded etc.

TPS could be sending weird signals; you describe it fine under partial throttle, but at WOT it sputters when its above 3k. CPK, crank posistion sensor, I dunno really. But i'd disco the vafc first and see if that clears anything up.

TPS signals are accurate, as reported by the VAFC. MAP is fine as well, and the knock sensor wire is un-tapped and seated properly. Im going to un-install the vafc right now.. to see if that eliminates the issue. and it actually sputters worst at low RPm's. it sputters at idle with NO trottle input. after 3K you can give it more gas and it runs smoother.

just removed VAFC. all wires patched up right. car idles SHITTY as before, is more prominent when it IS WARM> wtf... still sputtering like crazy throttle makes it worse, steady rpms are smooth. now im pissed beacuse i removed the VAFC and same problem. Ive idled it for about 10 minitues no CEL yet imma try driving it and ill get back.
