Electrical Problems - Wire Burnout
Hey guys its been a while...
Well...my h22 swap went well and then my father screwed everything up with the electrical part. Basically what happened was my dad wanted the cigarette lighter to work and i had it disconnected at the time. When he put the two wires back on it it blew a fuse. Common sense would tell him to find the short before putting in another fuse. He puts in a bigger fuse and fries some wires...now only the left headlight will turn on. The in dash lights work just not the exterior. The markers and the tails are out when the lights are switched to on.
Basically...I've went through the chilton and the Prelude manual and looked at the wiring diagrams...is it possible to just replace the in dash wiring harness all together...or should i go through and replace all the wires.
Please withold from comments about how stupid it was....i know this already and its quite annoying. I have my Spec-V until the time being.

Wow

Thanks dad.
Check the big gray connector that plugs into the fusebox, unplug it and make sure that none of the wires there are burnt out. I had a problem recently with my parking lights and a pin on that connector had back contact. That connector comes from the light switch and powers all the exterior lights, so I believe your problem will be there.
If its not there he could have fried a wire, though those wires are good for more than enough amperage, he most likely fried a connector or a relay or soemthing.
