Default Fine to drive with no timing belt cover in rain?

What's the chance of water getting inside the engine bay, specifically the timing belt area? If anything, what could happen? It's been raining crazy here and I have to drive, usally dont when it's raining. I don't have the two covers up top (obviously have the bottom).

you've got to be joking. There's no way water is going to get in there unless you don't have a hood.

Do you have covers on your alt/powersteering and a/c belts too?
