Default Caliper seal...

I have read on some old posts that i can buy a replacement caliper seal pack...wold thins be recomended over buying a new caliper? mine has been leaking brake fluid for a while now.

Depends on how the piston looks. Alot of the time the caliper repair kit will do the job.

Rebuilding a caliper is a pain in the but..

just buy a remanufactured one and save yourself the trouble

Thats the thing...they arent that much for a reman. just thought i would post the question for some feedback

I dont get how rebuilding a caliper is a pain ??
You remove it, drain the fluid, remove piston and replace the seals. Easy.

I would certainly try a reseal kit before I got a new caliper

much easier to go to the store, buy remuf. and install.

no cussing at stuck piston. or boots that keep popping out, or not going in,

there is a value of time spent of rebuilding.

Plus if the piston/bore is scored or jacked up..you need to replace anyways..


just not worth the time

Havent found them other than the dealer...but they are not that much, i believe some one said like 13 bucks in one of the archive posts i read
