Default thoughts on caliper rebuild kits?

I have a 93 delsol. With 115k mi, I think its time to overhaul the brakes. I would like to know if its worth rebuilding the calipers-$5 or buying new$100+ ea. or used $30

it depends on if you have done a caliper rebuild or know someone who has who can help you. It is fairly easy, but if you've never done it before it can take you hours on end just to get the seals in correctly. Just need brake fluid, brake cleaner spray, the kit, some hi temp grease, and a pan to clean the calipers and disassemble them in. The actual rebuild should take about 20-30 minutes per caliper to take out, clean, relube and replace.

Thanks,
I have never rebuilt a caliper but , can service my brakes ok. Is there any tricks to putting in the seals I might want to know about?

there is a seal which is farther in and the boot itself. The seal is easy, the kit comes with some special grease for that. The boot is the harder part. I found the easiest way was installing the boot into the caliper first without the piston. Then get a little brake fluid to lube up the inside of the bore and the piston. Then carefully stretch the boot over the piston without pulling the lower lip back out of the caliper and seat the boot on the piston, and finally line up the piston with the bore and it should slide in.

Note: this can become fustrating really quick if the boot keeps popping out, so think really hard if you really want to do this because once you have it apart you have to put it back together or go buy new ones, because most places don't want to rebuild. If it's not leaking, there shouldn't be a need to replace it anyway.
