Default Evap question (searched)

Hey guys, I've got a couple questions about the evap system. First of all, I bought a 92 hatch shell after my 95 hatch got rearended and totalled. I'm swapping in my JDM GSR and as I'm going along, I get to the ECU part of the change over and ran into a snag. Which leads me to the title.

In the wiring harness plugs that plug into the ECU, there are 2 cut wires as they come out of the plugs. They are A15 (AC control) and A20 (EVAP control).

AC I could care less about, this car doesn't even have a heater, let alone AC. The question I have though is regarding the A20 evap pin. To give you an idea, the car didn't have a cansiter, or any of the attached vacuum lines. It does now because I swapped them out of my previous car. The guy said that he never got any codes when he had the car and that goes along with what I'm thinking, but I wanted to get HT's opinion.

Because the car is OBDI and teh motor is OBDI, will I not pull an evap code even with that wire cut? Also, with that wire cut am I going to have any evap issues? What the hell does evap do anyway?

Thanks ht

that wire is supposed to go to the EVAP purge control solenoid valve. which in the GSR was located on the firewall , dead center up high behind intake manny. the D series cars , its usually on the intake manny itself(meaning your car doesnt have one right now most likely). the canister has 3 lines comming from it. 2 on top of one another and one by itself. the top of the 2 together goes to the purge solenoid , and than to the intake manny close to throttle body. the bottom of the 2 together goes to the throttle body. the one by itself goes through the firewall to a valve. that wire A20 , is supposed to go to the purge control solenoid. you need to get a purge solenoid from an integra , mount it to the firewall , run a wire from A20 to it , and hook vacuum lines up as ive mentioned. otherwise your car most likely wont idle correctly.

I've got the canister and all the lines as I said. I got them from my car which was running fine. My only question was if I don't have that wire, am I going to run into problems?

i already answered that question. and if your not going to run the purge solenoid , eliminate the whole system and run a vacuum line from the throttle body to the intake manny where the vacuum lines from the canister would go. one port to the other.
