Default Distributor trouble shooting (or shoot myself)

ok, heres the thing:

Last week my distributor went bad. code 15 on my d16a6 1990 crx si. So i gotta replace the distributor.

I went to a junkyard and picked one up that was just like my distributor. only difference i could tell was the plugs were different, but wire colors and number were the same on them.

d16a6 distributor (bad one) had 2 round plugs
the distributor i found had 2 square plugs. Apparently it came off an hf or a dx, or something damn close. its honda, lots of stuff fits and works one way or another.

-so i change the plugs and wire them up by matching the cords by colors (did i do the right thing?) the only probs were my plugs i put on had 2 white wiries, while the distributor i bought had 1 white, and another multi colored one that didnt match any others. I guess theyre mix and match 50/50?

-Look at the picks below of how i put the distributor on. Is it on right?

-while looking at the pics, what are the vavles numbered by? 1,2,3,4 from left to right? or is it 4,3,2,1? With that in mind, which plugs from the head/spark plugs go on which connector on the dostributor as i have it mounted on my car.

\

PLEASE help me on this one. i can supply more info if needed on ANYTHING aobut this. I am just so lost and i got a head swap this weekend i need to do on scheduel (cant if i dont fix this thing)

i tried many combonations, but i just could get the car to start, it would jsut turn over like a bad dizzy the time but not start at all. anything im missing or what? suggestions? help!

DPFI distributor there, no way to make it work buddy coz its missing a sensor, hence 1 white wire instead of 2. Toss that and get the right one. Or buy it from Distributor King.

so igot the wrong dist?

as for the 2 white wires vs 1 white. the left over not fully matchable wires out of 7 on both were 2 white on one, and a white and a multi colored one. they are not matchable?

DPFI vs MPFI. I havnt quite gotten aorund to wrapping my mind around that fully. the distributor is DPFI, while the motor require MPFI?

The DPFI distributor is different, and unfortunately the PM6 ECU and other MPFI ECU's just can't understand its signal due to a lack of a sensor that those ECUs search for. I apologize that I haven't returned your PM, Finals >>>> Me.

man i have a box full of distributors at my house.. i think i have an a6 distributor but it WILL throw a code 9.. got me out of a jam once though. Ill take a look and see if i have one that might still be good.

you can get them on ebay for cheap.. like $150 or so brand new. maybe you could buy one on there and overnight it or something.

im suprised your car didnt start though.. the only sensor it was missing is the TDC/Cyl sensor, and when my car was throwing a code 9 for that sensor, it still ran, but ran like ****. so your wiring might be a little jacked too. good luck.
