How many miles are on the swap? You should tell that asshat that just because he put that money into the car doesnt mean he will get that much out of it. The rust on the 1/4 is going to cost you some money to fix before it spreads and ends up costing you more money... use that in your arguement.

sounds okay i guess, what are the mods on the motor??? pics would help. Having AC in a swapped EG is very rare to find so thats a +. Post some pics bro, roughly even if the car was pretty mint 5k is a little too much. If the motor is somewhat built with quality parts i'd pay at the most...$4500.

He says 50K miles on the swap, no way to really verify it though. The motor looks clean without any leaks or gasket sweating anywhere that I noticed that would indicate high unmaintained mileage. Yeah I might wait him out a few days and see what happens, basically he said for anything less then 5 he would just keep it.

if theres rust on the quarter and the body is just mint, expletive him. You can find a pretty clean EG with a good swap for less than 5 no problem. My uncle picked up eg cx, body was in mint condition (not the best), came with really rare white enkei 14inch rims (mint condition), cf hood (mint), real mugen front lip, gsr black leather all around with full black interior, gsr motor with i/h/e buddy club cam gears/ITR cams. I believe he payed $3800 for it.

I would just wait it out if I were you. You will find a good deal sooner or later, just dont jump into things. Otherwise, you might end up being disapointed. If your looking for a DD, honestly I would stick with a D-series. Nothing to special, reliable as hell, and great gas milage. Also the usually go for pretty cheap, and are easy to come by.

I make it a point to steer people away from buying someone elses project...you never know what corners someone may have cut. Hold out for something stock, and something cheaper, then take the money you have saved and put it into the mods

Thanks for the replies guys, I think Im just gonna look for something else. Since 5 is considered to be too high, what is a good price for a car similair to the one I described?

it was definately repainted; i would say start with $4000 as an offer and if you can get it for 4.5k, it would be alright. But what can I say, I payed $3k for my bone stock cx

a EG for 5k has to be in pretty mint condition with a gsr motor with basic bolt ons. If your spending 5k, might as try to find a si so you get the moonroof and rear disc brakes.

This guy is tryin to hustle you... Don't bite... Honestly patience is a virtue and it's a key to getting a good car... If 5g's is what he wants then let him keep it haha... I can't stand those kinds of people.. Just wait it out... I'd offer him 4k and that's the "fair price"...

listen you cant find a bubble with a gsr engine for 4k anywhere!!!!! i would pay 4500-5000 for this eg... look at the body its mint! and the swap is over 3k... and holy **** sounds like the guy never beat on it!... i think for 4500 it would be a steal... but for 5k it wouldnt be a bad deal
