Default Factory Oil Change Worth It?

My 1999 Civic has 120K miles on it now. I have done all the maintenance myself(kept records of everything) and im wondering if I should take it into Honda for the oil change. Not because im lazy but im wondering if I should let them look at the car to make sure nothin is bad that I have missed. its an extra $17 or so but do you think it would be worth it? I think they do the checking of the car free when they do the oil change.

I doubt your car will get as thorough an inspection as you anticipate when taking it to the dealer for an oil change. I'd suggest spending the money on a repair manual, and then going over the car yourself instead. If it's all up to date on scheduled maintenance and you aren't experiencing any issues, I don't think there's much to be concerned about.

because as said below your post, i didnt know if they would do a good inspection or not. and no its not $17, its $31.35 including tax.

I have the factory service manual that i might look through. I might just take my car into honda for an apt. to have them chck it out, seperate visit from the oil change.

I work at a honda dealer, and we have to follow our 19 pt inspection closely!

If we say something is good and its not, we get to fix it for free and customer just pays for the parts! It sucks not being paid for your time!
