I have a code 12 which is for the EGR lift sensor...anyone know whats going on...car runs fine or so it seems to...is the lift sensor on the egr valve itself? because if so I think I may have effed it up when I was cleaning my egr valve with carb cleaner...is it possible to just get this sensor or do I Have to buy the whole egr valve with the sensor attached? thanks in advance guys!

 

The sensor is attached to the EGR valve, all one part.

 

so im guessing I should replace the egr valve..anyone know how much they cost?

 

ok scratch all that...i just forgot to plug it back up when i took it off to clean it lol oopsie

 

does that sensor tell the computer to send power to the egr valve to lift the valve so exhaust fumes can go thru the intake manifold. but i know theres a vaccum valve that open first. but not to sure how the whole process works. anyone that knows feel free to shine some light.. thanks
