which turbo kit would u get?
hey peeps, im boostin my D16Y8 in about 3 months or so, ive been lookin at complete turbo kits by greedy, Turbonetics, n edelbroc.
I would go all custom but i just want a kit that i can just drop into my engine n go! i would go the custom but i dont have a lot of time for down time trying to tune it n fix the kinks out.
so if anyone has any of these kits i would like to hear your thoughts about it.
i would go for the greedy kit but i dont know how much power im gonna get out of but it is only 2k
n i like the Turbonetics, because it looks like it comes with everything i need but its twice the price of the greedy kit. but it does say on 8psi i would be at about 210hp

I think i would still just save my money and piece it together. Once you have eerything you need you could do it in a weekend and take it in for tuning that monday. Or run low boost until you have time to take it to get tuned.
But that's just my $3000 i'd rather save.

Yep, expect 2-3 days to a week for any turbo. Whether it be kit or pieced together.
That's just for installation, mistakes and tuning could take another month.

because i already have n custom exhaust, 2 cans instead of one cuase once i boost my car the more free flowin the gas gets out the faster the turbo will spool up, (less backpressure meaning the engine will work less trying to get the gases out), n i also have a v2 aem intake just setting in my garage for now, btw has anyone seen a v2 intake put onto a turbo? (yes noob question)
this is what i have thought about to reach my goal of 350 to 450 whp
1.turbo manifold
2. 750 cc injectors?
3.walboro fuel pump
4.EMS ( hondata? or greedy ultamite)
5.vitara piston or something else.
6.stronger rods
7.arp head bolts?
8.turbo t3/t4?
9.boost controller
10.ext BOV
11.port n polish
12.bigger intake mani
13.beefier clutch
14.a **** load of gauges so i can see what going on (oil pres, oil temp, boost, tach, fuel pres, etc...)
15.take out the back seat
16.optima batt
17.better spark plugs
18.msd ignition system
19. intercooler
20. koyo rad
21. greedy oil cooler kit
22. direct port nos kit (still want 350 to 450 whp) or one of the co2 cooler kits things? haha
damn that going to take a lot of work n $$$

there are a few things you can change on that list to make things cheaper to make your goal...like EMS(use crome),DP nitrous,**** load of gauges, optima battery ..etc and you looked over some things as well

if you want to hit that kind of power, greddy and edelbrock kits are the last ones you want to look at. go read up in the forced induction forum before you waste money on things you dont need.

Yep, but with a b-series he won't have to rebuild the motor nearly to the degree he would a d-series. Plus. with a 1.8+ he'll have a bigger displacement.

Of course, but it would take less "building" to do it with a B.
ls = $300-$700 and much more boosting potential any d-series.

to the OP, here's the SOHC thread. H-T posters lean towards b-series swap, but there are still folks here that would be glad to help you out with a boosted sohc. try turbo-d16 as well, lots of support for the sohc-t crowd

people are making over 400whp without sleeves with D's...
check out turbod16.com they have a set-up thread and honda-tech has a F.I. sohc thread in the F.I forum that has tons of nice turbo D's making good power here's the link https://honda-tech.com/zerothread/1643764
