how much boost can a standalone support?
i am deciding whether i should go WAY more in debt for a standalone vs. a vafc hack. w/ stock internals. how much can a power fc (or any other standalone for that matter) help me boost safely on my car? f-max on a 99gsr. ive heard people boosting 11 or 12 daily w/ their standalone. w/ a standalone, im looking at 8-9 daily on stock internals, is that possible?

You are limited more by fuel octane and the stock-ness (if that's a word) of your engine internals.

Exactly Dustin. The fuel is a huge factor at higher boost levels. Even with Crower rods and forged low CR pistons you WILL detonate on pump gas with too much boost no matter how good the tuning is!

ah, i see. the guy i heard boosting like 12 daily must have tubs of race gas at home then. in CA, highest octane available is 91. stock internals, 91 octane, estimate on my max boost for daily?
