Turbo experiences (stock internals)
How many miles have you gone on stock internals with a turbo kit? What are the main problems people are facing? I'm looking into the greddy turbo kit at min boost, but I don't want the engine running only 50K miles. Thanks for everyone's help!

I drove my stock motor hard everyday and it went after 10k. Well the motor would probaly would have lasted longer if my oil pump didnt go. Oil pump went bad = spun a bearing.

blondie, if your gonna keep the boost low you wont have any problems. Make sure you get it tuned half decent from the start, and just keep up on oil changes and such.

Yes, so far it sounds good. Besides the actual turbo kit, what else may I need to buy? Can I tune this all myself? I might get the GReddy Kit any thoughts?

Re: Turbo experiences (rsxblondie)
i ran anywhere from 12 lbs of boost(93 octane) to 22 lbs of boost(116 octane). turbo went on at 145,000+ miles. lasted over a year. went with a built motor, never blew the old one. the motors will last if they're tuned correctly. i've heard that rev hard offers a kit for the rsx. your main concern will be finding a company that makes the exhaust manifold. i'd stay away from the greddy kit. if theres a shop in jersey thats good with turbo kits, buy the manifold seperatley from rev hard and piece together a nice custom kit yourself. might save you alot of money down the road.
