I have a 91 accord lx with a dc header. The front motor mount is just barely in the way of removing the header. I dont remember having to remove it to put it on. Is there any tricks to getting it off??

If the thing follows the same mounting as the 5th gen or 6th. You have to remove the down pipe bolts. I think it has 2 or 3. Then you remove the header from the engine. I'm assuming you have a short header not a racing one.

yeah I have those 3 bolts removed also but that motor mount is still in the way. Its so close to coming off but forcing it is gonna damage the threads on the head and scratch up the outside of the pipe coming off of the 4th cylinder.

well either way, if you need motor mount to go out, do it. It's pretty easy. Takes me a good 15 min... But usually you don't.

Well of course put a jack under a solid block on the engine. Not on a pan. As close to the center as possible. And jack it enough to support the engine. Then take out the bolts. and do whatever you need to do.

I seriously doubt you have to. Find an angle. There's a way.

EDIT and also you can remove the rad fans if it's easier.

first off you shouldnt have to touch the front motor mount..but if you think that is the easiest way out...get your jack out and take a fairly thick piece of wood and stick it on the top of the jack..jack it up under your oil pan and jack it up just enough to support the motor...once it hits the oil pan jack it up maybe 1 and half more times or so..then unbolt the motor mount..easy as pie
