Default Oil Light question...

I own a 96 EK, and just got an oil change. Now, my oil light goes on and off (usually when im braking or at a slope). Soon after my Check Engine light went on. Checked my oil level, seemed a little low, so I tossed in another quart, problem solved. A couple days later, same problem. Any ideas?

The obvious answer is that you're leaking oil. Find out from where.

Likely culprits are:

cam seals
oil pan gasket
drain plug washer
double-gasketed oil filter

if you got the oil changed at a garage call them and let them know whats going on cause they could be held liable for any damage if it's there fault. but if you did it yourself then you need to find the problem

Sounds like the oil change place messed something up and something's leaking. I wouldn't think you would burn through that much oil in a couple of days and if you did it would be smoking like a **** more than likely. Take it back to the shop and have them check it out. You haven't noticed any oil spots where you park the car? That's alot of oil to lose in a couple days.

if you used a aftermarket oil filter that will happen also have seen that with real cheap filters. if it was a leak im sure it would leave a prety obious oil leak on the ground and i realy dont rings or valve stem seals would be the problem like he is talking about valve stem seals would be leaking down after the car has been sitting for a long period of time.
so realy the only 2 cause's
#1 they did not fill the engine with the correct amount of oil.
#2 shity aftermarket oil filter.(oil change places use the cheapest filters they can buy.
