I lowered my car and had it aligned and when i lowered it i noticed that i ripped the cv boot while doing it and now after the alignement and before the alignment the car drifts to the right under acceration. It doesnt pull or anything while im just cruising but when i give it gas it goes over to the right. i think that its the cv joint, but wanted to run it by you guys.

 

it wouldnt be from the cv joint. i say check your tires and recheck alignment. i once did an alignment on a car and it did that to me but the rack was sliding, check the bushings.

 

The alignment is fine The car doesnt drift or anything when im just going on the street. Only when i give it gas itll drift off to the side.

 

does it matter what speed? even if you hold the wheel can you feel it pull that way?

 

Not really i was driving at 65 and it didnt pull or anything. Its ONLY when i accerate that it will do this a little.

 

I just want to know if the bad CV joint would be the cause of this?I am going to repalce it anyway and i just wanted to know if there was anything else that might cause this so that i can get it fixed.
Note: The car is in perfect alignment.

 

hmm.. thats a head scratcher. did you lower it yourself? was everything put back on tight? never really heard of that problem, but like i said except for that one time this car had bad rack and pinion bushings.

 

well i never heard of a axle making a car pull but i say change it and see if it goes away.

 

Yes i lowered the car myself. and trust me that i made sure that it was done correctly

not alignment, if theirs an alignment problem the car will drive straighter under acceleration then coasting

 

Ok well im going to have th cv joint replaced and see what happens.

check your front lower control arm bushings i had the same problem on my and the bushing on the lower control arm that bolts to the front subframe was shot i just replaced thar bushing and it was a nigth and day diference.

 

maybe it's your diff sending more power to one wheel then the other for some reason. I notice that in my last car too but thought it was normal.

 

i'm with dadoc on this... i think you are have one tire slightly spin and the other not, causing the car to pull.

 

sounds like an axle to me, it happens all the time...
