as per title of thread...my R will be going to a new home, to be replaced by a house and a cheaper car. If someone says they have a 1990 Mazda RX-7 with a "B13 rated engine" what are we talking about? I dont know anything about Mazda engines.

it`s a 13b. No fun unless you know how to work on them. I had an 83 w/ a bridge ported 13b and it boned the hell out but always ran hot, bad, and loud. Fun car for about one hour a week.

the rotory is an extremely touchy engine. you can easily blow an apex seal and the engine will need a rebuild. its a strong engine but its not for newbies. the engine is prone to overheating. this is why 3rd gen rx-7 tend to live a short life of 70k miles.
the miata engines run like a champ though. they can handle 15 psi of boost on a stock block DAILY DRIVEN and the car will outhandle most cars stock with .95 G. Add a lil suspension tuning and you will easily surpass a G. a 12 sec car pulling over a G in the turns... sounds like fun to me. also sounds a lot like that of a ferrari....
