Yeah take the money that you would spend trying to lower the car and hiding it from your dad and use it to pay him off sooner. Then when the car is yours save for a bit and buy a good set of shocks and springs. Your dad is not an idiot and will see that you lowered the car at some point.

Just pay it off soon, and then look into strut/coilover combo's.

There's a reason he doesn't want you to invest in something you don't own.

I'm against the GC bandwagon, Any $100+ progressive spring would be a good choice. My roomate had tokico iilluminas and H&R race springs, rode like a champ.

45mph flat turns. It was a sick setup. I didn't mind it for daily driving, I like driving a go cart on the street. But that's just the teenager in me.

Good find, and a better shock for the extra ~$100.

Worth it in the long run I suppose.

Even still, I'd just run a good progressive spring.

I think I'm going to go with Illuminas and either Skunk2 coilovers or GCs...b/c with coilovers I can buy them now and drop it later

I would go against S2 coilovers... IMO the ride is bumpy/stiff as hell. Like ek said, either some 100+ Progressive spring or even some H&R would be better.
