Crank Position Sensor Help
We finally got my car fired up last night. But it is throwing a Crank Position Sensor code (CEL Code 4)
Info:
Built B16 swapped into a 1989 Civic DX
Still OBD0 with a Pr3 ecu
DPFI>MPFI conversion
We also threw a IAT, and Vtec Solenoid, and TPS code...but thats only because we havent hooked these up yet. (Hasport Sub harness) We were just making sure it would crank.
So my first question is...would these three codes be linked to the CPS code being thrown?
And second...how would i go about correcting the CPS code.

Are you sure? Im just asking because some1 else told me that it was in the motor itself (by the Crank pulley?)

No, the CPS is not located near the pulley.
The CYP (Cylinder Position), CKP (Crank Position) and TDC (Top Dead Center) sensors are all located in your distributor. The sensor that is located near the pully is for OBD2 cars and is the CKF (Crank Fluctuation Sensor).
Do a continuity check on all the sensors between the distributor and the ECU.

How did you wire it at the ecu? When i first did my mpfi swap and connected the two wires at b10 and b12 for the CPS i didn't depin b12 and repin the new wire. I tried to splice into it and it threw code 4. Well i depined b12 and repined the new wire and the code went away.

Thats what happen. Went back and repined the new wire in and everything is all gravy. Thanks guys!

My 91 hatch is also throwing code 4. It also won't go above a certain rpm, is this because of the code. I have an obd0 dizzy and an obd1 ecu. Do I need both to be the same obd? And of course it's a B16. Thanks in advance for the help.
Yes.
OBD0 works with OBD0 Dizzy only.
OBD1 and OBD2 are interchangeable but they have different plugs on the dizzy.

Sure, use a small screwdriver to depin the plug. The actual pins should be the same size, so its just a matter of getting them in the correct order in the plug itself.
