98 civic in limp mode
i have a 97 civic with a y8 installed. I am a total noob but had the crank replaced because i had a friend of a friend work on it and did not tighten crank pulley properly. replaced crank, pulley, timing, water pump and now get code for crank position sensor, replaced and still getting code. because between 3500-4000 rpm car goes limp. what can be the problem because still getting same code for crank sensor

Re: 98 civic in limp mode
hmm thats odd. usually if a crank sensor goes bad the car wont even start or crank at all. its a fail safe in the ecu programming. are you sure it is a crank sensor code and not a cam sensor code?

Re: 98 civic in limp mode
The car is currently at the mechanics garage and they are close on sunday's so i wont be able to get the codes until tomorrow but autozone, honda, and my mechanic ran the codes and they all state its the crankshaft position sensor. I will get the codes tomorrow if that will help
