CV boots cracked, what else can i replace while im in there?
it is a '95 accord LX 4dr. the CV boots are cracked and i figured i'll just replace both axles. Does $100 labor sounds fair to do this job?
I found some driver and passanger side axles (#4202 and 4203) on feebay for $50 each, but they are not OEM: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...QrdZ1
is it any good? or should i look for OEM replacement somewhere else?
What else can i replace while im at it. The car has over 120kmiles and the ride is kinda hard when i go over the bumps, i will do the shocks later though.
EDIT: question - do all '95 Accord LX come without ABS?

I just replaced my axles last week for both. I did it myself. The job is pretty easy. The process is like the "1997 Brake tuturial" plus a few more steps. You can do it yourself if you want to. Anyways, I got those cheapo ones from this parts shop, The joint don't even move. Buy from somewhere where you can inspect and test. Thats my suggestion.
dont they come in a kit with axle???

Here are the standard features for the ’95 LX:
http://www.edmunds.com/used/19....html
Note that there is no mention of ABS.
Here are the standard features for the ’95 EX:
http://www.edmunds.com/used/19....html
which includes “4-Wheel ABS”. Note that the V6's had ABS and I'm assuming there was an LX V6, but you don't have a V6.
Also, my '99 LX doesn't have ABS.

thanks. so im going to order axles for non-ABS accord; i found a few brands like EMPI (most expensive $92 each), First Equipment Quality, ARC (least expensive $66) an CVU. Which one would you recommend? Here is the link: http://replacement.autopartswa...=true

so i have ABS if there is a ABS indicator right next to the fuel gauge, like it pictured here on 95 EX wagon:
at the same time this 95 EX sedan does not have an ABS indicator:
which makes me think that ABS was an option for EX models?

The Accord EX (5th gen) had ABS. The picture shown, if it was an EX, may have had the instrument guage cluster replaced from a different trim model (e.g., LX, DX, etc.), but that person didn't swap the bezel from the original.

the seals do not come with it unfortunately..and those things are a b**** to get out trust me...unless you get some sort of tool to get them out I dont really remember what its called...prying on it with a flat head doesnt work or at least it didnt for me...get the axles at autozone or advance if your not wanting to spend much..brand new axles from napa or somewhere like that will run you close to 300 dollars but they are well worth it...the ones at autozone will end up being about 200 maybe a little less..do it yourself its very very simple plus you'll get learning experience so you can do it the next time also
i was just agreeing that the axles dont come with the seals and i was telling him that they are hard as hell to get out...and i highly doubt that autozone does lifetime warranties on their rebuilt axles...they know they are going to eff up after a while so why would they do that..they are old axles with new parts on them..so I highly doubt they have a lifetime warranty maybe a 3 month warranty or something..i dont know
