Default ZC = Not reving past 2000

Okay, well I took my car into the shop, and they gave me a crock of bull on how they couldnt fix it. But I doubt theye ven looked at it. Anyway, I am throwing a code 14. My car runs good, but at 2000 RPM it cuts out, fuel cutoff, or revlimiter feels like. We tried 3 GOOD ecus.. ECU is not problem. We are guessing its the coil or ignitor. Does anyone have any other suggestions? I am needing to get it fixed asap. Thanks.

code 14 is iacv, that little box attached with two bolts to the back of the intake manifold. try removing it and cleaning it out.

It's in home-limp mode, happened to me. Check your injector wiring or your injector box to see if it's in good shape.

Suspect a bad distributor. Try swapping a good one on, and see if that fixes the problem.

Good luck,

that can also make it go into home-limp mode.

Well this all started when I was driving down the street and the car died.. It wouldnt start. I took the distributor cap off, and on the ignition module, one of the wires came off. It was running fine till then. I put that wire on, and it started right up. Now it wont rev past 2000 RPM, when at first it wouldnt rev past 3000. So its dropping. I am thinking the coil might be bad, thats why. ANy other suggestions? Is there a way to get it out of "limp mode" or safe mode?

Is the whole dizzy bad then? I have called a few shops today, and asked for there opinions on it, they all told me the dizzy sounds fried.

Also, how do you check to see if a TPS is in good working condition? How do you measure it, I think my TPS is bad too..

Default Yahh its fixed..

Well it was 2 things,a nd it should be fixed for good now.. First, my Idle Air Control vavle code was being thrown. So I messed with it a little, and I cleaned it out, it was frickon loaded with Carbon, maybe from my car running rich as hell. So I got some parts cleaner, and I cleaned it all out. Put it on, hooked it all up, ran past 2000. So I was happy aobut that.

Then my TPS code was being thrown, and my idle was way messed up. So the guy I sold my motor too, he sold me the thorttle body off it, 30 bucks, 5 more than I payed for the throttle body, it was convient, so I bought it, worked fine, other than the frickon whisteling noise it has.

So all is good, I remember last itme I made this post about everything running fine, the next day it broke down, haha, hope it dont happen this time.
