Quick question
Just recently i purchased a 94 civic ex (d16z6)with 126k miles on it. Car runs good and all, but when starting off in first gear if i rev it up to about 1.5k-2k rpm and let off the clutch it shakes a bit then stops and i proceed to drive. This only happens in first gear, i have tried taking off at a lower rpm and most of the time it wont shake or anything. Looks like the car possibly has new motor mounts, and i was wondering what is my problem, the motor mounts or possibly something with the clutch or even something with 1st gear. Any opinions? Thanks.
Sounds to me like you're stalling out.
Why do you try and dump the clutch at 1.5-2k rpms?
That will net you nothing but a burned out clutch and a pissed passenger.
Slowly let the clutch out.
I bounce my car between 800rpms and 1500 while I slowly let my foot off the clutch.
Much easier on your clutch/tranny.

I dont stall out, just if i give it a little more gas then normal like the whole car shakes, im just saying it happens most often in the 1k-2k rpm range. I do let out the clutch out slowly and know how to shift properly. Its kind of hard to explain, and i dont think its the clutch because i can start out in 2nd gear and it not shake, so im kind of lost on what the problem is.
