Default OEM EK EX/SI Exhaust - measurement / length request

Looking for the length of an ex/si (EJ8/EM1) rear section (muffler and piping).
NOT the hatch!
A length from flange to muffler would be ok, but a complete overall would be best.
(Dont have to follow the curves, just straight length is what Im looking for )

Reason:
I have this oem axle back that I want to put on, and Im thinking that the rear section is from a hatch (or something with a y7), because its several inches too short.
The rear piping (flange to muffler) is 15" or so...it probably needs to be like 18-19"
Just looking for confirmation

People look if there are pictures

(hopefully, I can get some help...)

Well... I checked on both our '98 EX coupe and our '97 CX hatch. The exhausts are currently on the cars though, so the measurements might be off... I saw no one had helped you, so I figured I'd try.

I tried though.

Measurements are in a straight line.

Coupe/sedan (flange to muffler): 16"
Hatch (flange to muffler): 15"

I wish there was someone else who could confirm it.

It's not that confusing. Lay the muffler out and measure it straight.

...how is that confusing?
start the tape at the muffler and pull it back to the flange
I edited the picture anyways...

lol... nice picture.

I measured both exhuasts the same way, only from the bottom since it's where i could reach with both cars on the ground.

Coupe exhaust was stock and hatch exhaust is Tanabe Super Medallion Hyper.

Crap.. I just compared the part numbers for all piping plus muffler and no part number for the piping or muffler matches up between the EX coupe and Si coupe.

I just closed that window too.

Here's a comparision of part numbers of piping anf muffler.

PIPE A, EX.
96-98 EX - 18210-S01-A81
99-00 EX - 18210-S01-A72
99-00 Si - 18210-S04-A91

CONVERTER
96-98 EX - 18160-P2R-A00 (5MT) / 18160-P2R-A50 (4AT)
99-00 EX - 18160-P2P-A00
99-00 Si - 18160-P2P-A00

PIPE B, EX.
96-98 EX - 18220-S01-C81
99-00 EX - 18220-S01-A81
99-00 Si - 18220-S04-A92

MUFFLER SET, EX.
96-98 EX - 18030-S01-C80 / 18030-S01-C81
99-00 EX - 18030-S01-C81
99-00 Si - 18030-S04-C90

In case anyone else needs this info in the future, measurements for my b-pipe (stock '98 EX pipe - P/N 18220-S01-C81).

From the cat to the resonator: 23 inches

Length of resonator: 16 inches

From the rear of the resonator to the *start* of the first bend: 13 1/2 inches

From the start of the first bend to the muffler flange: 28 inches

Image of measurements in case there is any misunderstanding.

well it's interesting to see that the ej8 and em1 have different part numbers on the b pipe and muffler, but i wonder what the actual differences are...

em1 b-pipe is the same exact length (at least using those measurements anyway )
Still, its 2-3" shorter than it should be... Im positive its the rear section now

You can't get no action from the back section

You have just bumped a 7 year old thread with a question that could be answered with a google search or quick trip to your local self-service wrecking yard.

on top of that you ask about an engine/chassis combination that was never made... D16Y7 was available in the EJ6, not the EK9.

please try to be more conscientious.
