The oil light comes on after 15 mins. of driving. I have checked the oil level on the dip stick. It looks to be at the normal level. I've just changed the head because broken valves and replaced timing and water pump. Could it be the oil pump? Or a broken sensor?
well what the oil light is when it comes on it means your oil pressure is low..so my guess is something isnt right and your not getting enough oil pressure..could be the pump or a sensor im not sure..maybe someone else would know just thought that might help a little bit
i dont know if this will help or not, but i have a '92 with 205k on it. ever since i got it at 180k i put in castrol 20w-50 bc thats what the previous owner put in it. it ran fine and i never had any problems with it excpet minor oil burning. then one oil change i decided to listen to some "advice" and put in 5w-30. it ran OK untill the last thousand on my 5 thousand oil use. i was driving and then all of the sudden the oil light comes on, no irregular driving on my part. so i check the oil and its below min. which i know shouldnt be BC i kno the amount my engine burns oil. point of story is, he light is on BC of low oil pressure, andif its not fuel pump, it may be the oil. maybe you put in a different type of oil, than you used to?
