brand new caliper locking up
So i removed abs in my 94 EX coupe. to do that, i changed the master cylinder with one from a 90 LS integra. I also used the power booster from that same car. Then i got a proportioning valve from a civic or integra with rear disks w/o abs. Then i got the hard lines from a junkyard civic without abs. the hard lines i replaced were the two going from the master cylinder to the prop valve and the two going from the prop valve to each front caliper. then i used brand new stainless steel braided soft lines on all four corners.
so last week i had this problem: im driving down the road @ 40mph and when i would put the clutch in to **** into the next gear, the car would slow down to ~30mph. Then when i would try and keep a good speed, the front brakes started to smell. when i stopped, the front drivers side brake was smoking.
since then, i replaced the rotor, pads, and caliper and bled the brakes.
this problem is still occurring. the brake pedal is VERY firm. it seems to only happen after abour 5-6 minutes of driving. anybody heard of this?

Replace the rubber hoses that connect to the caliber. If they're old they are probably rotted out inside and the mung is clogging up the caliber. I had that happening to a taurus, kept replacing the caiber, bleed, new pads & the caliber would fail WAY sooner than it should.
