Default Any Body build a b16a stroker in here

Any body build a b16a stroker i am in the process of building one and i want to know what the highest someone reving it up too i have heard like 10,000-11,000 rpms , but i am concerned being all motor with 12.5.1 compression reving that high with the deck being a short block and a 92mm stroke crank i will have pics posted

Are you going to be making power that high ? No sense in reving that high if no power is being made up there

yea it will make power at 10 grand but its kinda fishy because the clearance it baically a take from a stock type r crank and re bluye printed and balanced and machined and it the same rod legnth as a type r but just with a low deck piston but being high compression and from the top of the deck to the valve clearance i dont know i guess i am goona have to go buy some play dow and see if it clears thats what im questioning

Sorry that was hard to understand, I hope you are going to build the head. Not a lot of engines make any more up that high either.

thought a stroker engine just means the crank is heavy so it can build up momentum to swing the piston up faster? so wouldnt that be bad for reving high?

the term stroker is refers to adding a crank with more stroke there for more displacement. the only bad thing is that a stroker doesnt seem to last quite as long because of the rod stroke ratio being a little bit to the unfavorable side. i have built a couple stroker domestic v8s and i love the tourqe increase because there is no replacement for displacement.

yea the head is built with port and polished gsr head snunk 2 manifold skunk2 dual valve srpings, supertech retainers, i just got some crower stage 3-403 full drag cams that are good to his all motor program so i know my head will do it for this build i would never build my block with out building the head or haveing one already built

Maybe stock, it's not like us big bad v8s can't and don't mod.

Ever see a LS1 with a big single? Supras cry. LS1s, are becoming old news now too.

Back to topic, If you really want to twist that high, frankly I don't recomend it for 99.999995% of people who think they need or want to. I would keep the b16 R/S stock.

Or move up to a b18C block, work from that instead.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by iluvmyef9 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">yea the head is built with port and polished gsr head snunk 2 manifold skunk2 dual valve srpings, supertech retainers, i just got some crower stage 3-403 full drag cams that are good to his all motor program so i know my head will do it for this build i would never build my block with out building the head or haveing one already built </TD></TR></TABLE>

With those cams yes you can make power up to around 10k so you are picking your parts well and that's a good start

I asume this will be a drag racing motor?

They are huge cams, race cams as they say so themselves, few extra CC won't hurt, if he can go mild on a b18c block to say 1.9L or more it'll just help it more so.

Now is this motor going to need to be a b16 stroker for a race class, what exactly are you doing with this motor?

a 92mm crank in a B16A block is going to have a hard time revving to 10k+. The rod/strock ratio would be horrible.

spoon used the taller B16B/B18C block and a custom girdle with a 1.6L crank and long rods to achieve 11,000 rpm. You definately do not want to stroke a regular B16A if you want high rpms.

and as far as a turbo replacing displacement - you can boost a V8, so displacement still wins.
